CONSULTATION | Proposed Cloud Solutions for the Remote Gaming Industry
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has acknowledged the advantages and options that cloud solutions provide the remote gaming industry in general. Cloud solutions allow for significant cuts in infrastructural and operational costs, better management and allocation of IT resources, increased flexibility and scalability of operations.
However, the Authority is aware of the fact that changing from one environment to another would present new challenges, which operators and regulators alike are doing their best to address, both from a policy and operational standpoint. The MGA will be releasing guidelines for the Remote Gaming operators making use of cloud solutions once feedback has been received from all stakeholders. The MGA will also allow facilities to be used as cloud service providers for gaming transactions in defined circumstances to be announced at a later date.
This Consultation Document on Remote Gaming Cloud Solutions is proposing a sharper focus on long-standing principles, expounding on their importance from both a policy as well as a regulatory perspective.
We encourage the gaming industry as well as wider interest groups to engage constructively with the questions being raised in this consultation document.
The deadline for submission of feedback on the Cloud Solutions for Remote Gaming Consultation Document is extended until January 5, 2015. This extension has been granted to accede to the request made by a number of operators to be given more time to submit their feedback.
