Francois Piccione is the Chief Technology & Business Transformation Officer at the MGA. He brings over a decade of experience in digital innovation, operations management, and public policy development.
Francois served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer at INDIS Malta Ltd, where he led the implementation of large-scale industrial infrastructure projects. He also held the position of Chief Operations Officer at the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA), overseeing the organisation’s core operational functions.
Earlier in his career, Francois worked as a Policy and Strategy Consultant, contributing to several national initiatives, including the DLT Regulation, Malta’s National AI Strategy, the Digital Strategy, and the Video Games Development and Esports Strategy. He also held a senior role with the Responsible Gaming Foundation, gaining expertise in responsible gaming and regulatory frameworks.
Francois holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Derby and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Computing from the University of Malta. He is also certified as a PRINCE2 Practitioner and in Agile methodologies.
