Reference is made to the consultation document published on 10 July 2017 by the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) and the Malta Gaming Authority, on the application of anti-money laundering and countering the funding of terrorism obligations to the remote gaming sector. The FIAU is hereby advising interested parties that the consultation period is being extended to 1 September 2017. Feedback and/or comments are to reach the FIAU at [email protected] by not later than this date.
The FIAU also announced that the consultation exercise launched on 6 July 2017 by the FIAU in connection with a proposal to repeal and replace the current version of the Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations has been extended as well until 1 September 2017.
